Whatcha Working On Wednesday ❤️ Nov 11, 2020 ❤️
Before I start chatting about what we're working on, I want to first take a moment to thank all of our veterans for your service and sacrifice. I come from a long line of veterans and my son served in the Navy, as well. I know how hard it is for the families to spend the days, weeks, months, holidays, special days, all that time without their loved one at home. The hardest for me was definitely the holidays. However, when my son left for bootcamp, today marked the anniversary of when I received his first call home. I cried like a baby!! I was on my way up to Phoenix for a concert when he called. I pulled the car over so that I could give him the full attention, as I didn't know when I'd be able to talk to him again. We chatted for about 10 minutes before he had to go, and wow! I was such a mess! I cried... a little from sadness and a lot from pride. My first born was on his military adventure. I couldn't have been prouder. Unfortunately, he was hurt and medically discharged. So, he was home a few months later. And even though he didn't serve the entire time that he signed up for, I was proud. Proud of him for volunteering, proud of him for putting his country before self, proud of him for going all the way with it. Yes, I'm a proud momma.
Now for something less heavy! Whatcha working on?? I always have something on my hook, my needles and in my head. Currently I've been preparing for a blog hop that I'm going to be a guest designer on with Marly Bird. This happens in December and I have 2 spots - I'm so excited!! I have a knit pattern coming out on December 6th and a crochet pattern coming out on December 23rd. The beauty of these patterns is that they're "Quickies." Quickies are quick gift ideas that are meant to be made in a day or less. The knit pattern only takes about an hour or so and the crochet one is a few hours. I'll keep you posted when these come out, as they've been specifically designed for this blog hop.
So, today I met with my momma. After visiting for a while, she showed me her piece that she tested for me and we worked on the other one. Hers came out SO CUTE!! Since I'm not releasing these until next month, I won't be showing the final piece, but here's a sneak peak of the two of us being silly. Oh, and our dog, Bucket, needed some love from his Grandma :)
Tomorrow a new knit tutorial will be releasing. It'll be up on YouTube first and then I'll update the website with the link.
Have a great night!
